A Memphis native, Darrell Jackson has been entertaining crowds for over 20 years. He is a professional saxophonist/DJ. Darrell’s passion for music and approach to entertainment doesn’t allow him to be
compartmentalized into one category. He can be best described as an entertainer. His playing style has often been referred to as “anointed” as he plays with so much emotion and passion that one cannot help but to be moved by his contagious energy. As with all exceptional musicians, Darrell approaches music with his own style that cannot be duplicated. His entertainment style is inspired by multiple genres including R&B, Hip Hop, Pop, Gospel, Oldies, Blues, and Jazz.

Some of Darrell’s favorite artists from which he pulls inspiration include Luther Vandross, Anita Baker, John P. Kee, Bruno Mars, Prince, Chris Stapleton, BB King, Will Downing, Gerald Albright, and Donald Hayes;
to name a few.

Since a child, Darrell’s biggest dream was to become a respected musician/entertainer and gain the opportunity to perform with some of the greats. One of his favorite scriptures that continues to motivate him
is Proverbs 18:16, “A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.”

Where it all started -- Darrell's musical influence came early on as child from his father, Darrell Jackson Sr. who was also an exceptional musician who also played saxophone and multiple other instruments.
Darrell’s musical journey began when he started playing piano at his father’s church. While growing up, Darrell had the privilege of playing with multiple high school marching, concert and jazz bands. Once
graduating from Craigmont High School in 2007, he went on to extend his musical endeavors at the University of Memphis.

DJ Jackson Entertainment – Although Darrell had performed for many audiences prior to 2017, he made a concerted effort to begin booking events more consistently; birthing what we know today as DJ Jackson Entertainment. Alongside his team, Darrell now performs as a Saxophonist, DJ, special effects vendor, and Photobooth vendor throughout the mid-south at live concerts, private wedding, corporate events, anniversary parties, engagement parties, birthday parties, graduation parties, black tie event, etc. He prides himself on being a student and learning what makes these types of events “tick”. Darrell’s DJ style accommodates all styles of music including, but not limited to the latest hits, Pop, Jazz, R&B, Oldies, 70s, 80s, 90s, and Hip Hop, and Blues.
